About the role
As a Senior AI Engineer at Aivilo, you own outcomes, not tickets. You’ll design, build, and harden real AI systems for organizations in healthcare and other regulated industries, across the whole stack, from cloud and data to models and agents. Our clients don’t need another demo; they need AI that ships, stays reliable, and pays for itself. You’ll work directly with their teams alongside a small, senior group of engineers, with real ownership and short paths from idea to production.
What you'll do
- Design and build production-grade AI systems end to end: RAG, agents, and GenAI features
- Stand up reliable data pipelines and evaluation harnesses that keep quality measurable
- Harden systems for production: reliability, security, cost controls, and governance by default
- Instrument engagements with Lens so cost, quality, and reliability stay visible
- Work directly with client teams to turn ambiguous goals into shipped, measurable outcomes
- Raise the bar: set engineering standards and mentor across the team
What we're looking for
- 5+ years shipping software in production, including 2+ with ML/AI or LLM systems
- Strong Python and hands-on experience with a major cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Fluency with LLM app patterns: RAG, evals, prompt/version management, agents and tool use
- Solid data engineering fundamentals: pipelines, quality, and lineage
- A production mindset: reliability, observability, cost, and security are defaults, not afterthoughts
- A clear communicator who can work directly with client stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC 2)
- FinOps or cloud cost-optimization experience
- Prior consulting or client-facing delivery
